Winter Night Shelter at Kings Cross Methodist Church

Thursday evenings from 7th November 2024 to 10th April 2025

Venue: 6 Crestfield Street, WC1H 8AT

On Thursday 7th November, Kings Cross Methodist Church will open its doors for the Winter Night Shelter season. Every Thursday night until10th April, Kings Cross will welcome 16 guests who will be able to enjoy a hot meal, an evening of companionship, a shower, a warm bed for the night and breakfast in the morning.

The night shelter is run in collaboration with the homeless charity C4WS but we cannot open our doors without a team of willing volunteers.

On each Thursday night we require the following volunteers:

  • A team of 5-6 front of house volunteers from 6.30-10.00pm to help set up the beds and refreshments etc, and then chat with the guests and play board games with them.
  • A team of 2-3 people from 6.30-9.30pm to prepare and serve the evening meal.
  • Two overnight volunteers. From 9.45pm-7.15am (Volunteers sleep separately from the guests and are there in case of emergency. They are not expected to remain awake overnight.)
  • A team of 2-3 people from 7.00-9.00am on Friday morning to prepare and serve breakfast.

If you would like to volunteer for this exciting and rewarding ministry, we would love to hear from you. Full training will be given.
