My name is Mollie Madigan, and I am nominating myself to be the course representative for the Graduate Accelerated BVetMed Class. I graduated from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth with a Cum Laude Biology degree. During my time at UMass Dartmouth, I was an orientation leader for three years and a member of Alpha Sigma Tau National Sorority. Through being an orientation leader, one of our tasks was to give feedback on what went well for each session and what went wrong in a concise way so I am experienced with relaying information to others about experiences being positive or negative. We also were instructed to give criticism with an idea to improve the situation, which is also something I can bring to the Student Union to help improve the university. We worked with other students to get them situated at our school and also with parents and families to make the parents feel more comfortable with their children going off to school.
As a member of Alpha Sigma Tau National Sorority, I was elected Vice President of Growth which means I was in charge of planning recruitment activities to gain new members into our chapter. I orchestrated, organized, and instructed other members what to do for these events and ended bringing in about twenty new girls to our chapter. Furthermore, as an officer, I gave reports at our weekly meetings to keep the rest of the chapter informed on what I was doing and thinking, as well as taking their recommendations and comments into account to keep them involved in the process.
I have lots of experience working as a team to help accomplish common goals, and I hope I can bring that experience and knowledge to the Student Union to help make RVC the best it can be. Thank you!
