I'm Kathryn and as this is my fourth degree I feel that I have a lot of experience of studying at university! I have lived in London for 13 years so I can also give you advice about the city!
Whilst this past year studying at the RVC has been really great, I think there are many ways in which we can make it even better! I've already heard from quite a few of you about concerns you have, such as:
1. Finding quiet study space
2. Improving the AHEMS admin process
3. Opportunities to socialise as a year and celebrate successes
If elected as course rep I would consider establishing periodical "drop in" sessions to discuss any concerns you have face to face so that they can be raised to the university. I will always ensure that I fight hard to put students' needs first. We are all paying a lot of money to be here and I am not afraid to ask difficult or awkward questions of faculty staff to ensure that we are given the best chance of a positive learning environment.
Having worked in the competitive environments of pharmaceutical research and venture capital I have extensive experience of managing conflicts and as course rep you can rely on me to always put the needs of students first.
