HANNAH SMITH

My name is Hannah and I am a second-year Bioveterinary science student. I am a kind, friendly and approachable person who will always make time to listen and help when I can. I am an enthusiastic, hardworking individual who puts 100% into everything I do. After being on this course for over a year now I am passionate about helping students get as much out of the course as possible. I am a good communicator and will be able to deliver clear messages to and from lectures and students.

It is important that people are happy and comfortable in their learning environment to help them achieve their full potential and therefore I feel feedback from students is important in helping improve their university experiences. I have had many relevant experiences such as being a GSCE tutor and working in veterinary practices where I have had to take on a role of responsibility, organisation and working within a team. This also helped me understand the importance of discretion where necessary. Since leaving my sixth form I have gone back to do alumni talks about my journey at university and encouraging students to take the path that I have. This has helped expand my public speaking skills. To add to this I have recently become a stem ambassador where I am looking to organise an event to help encourage younger people to pursue careers in science.
