Hi guys, it’s me again. As the only year 2 course representative running for re-election (yes, James is not running, we are all in shock), I thought I might format my nomination as a progress report, so you can decide to vote or not vote for me based on my track record:
What I have achieved in the past year as course rep:
* Made sure Bioveterinary students still had a chance to undertake 60 credit modules if they wished to
* Compiled a comprehensive list of past students who had taken year 3 modules during our year 2 module selection period
* Ensured that both RVC Year 3 Induction slides and KCL Induction slides were available to students via email and Learn
* Was present at every single Course Management Committee to reflect the needs, concerns, and queries of students, and to provide feedback to you all
o Actively sourced feedback, queries, and concerns from students
* Liaised with King’s College London to make sure RVC students were not lost in the system
o Ensured that KCL sessions did not clash with RVC
o Communicated concerns of RVC students to KCL
* Regularly updated students through the Bsc Facebook Group
What I would like to continue to achieve if elected in the upcoming year:
* Raise concerns about the timing of January exams and query as to why those particular dates were chosen
* Do my best to ensure that we have a graduation ball
* Clarify whether RVC students have access to KCL academic tutors
* Ensure that the similar lack of communication between RVC and KCL does not happen for future years
* Ensure that communication on International student fee raises are done at an appropriate time
* If possible, continue pushing for a separate BSc graduation from the Veterinary Nurses (this will most likely be a long-term goal)
* Continue sourcing feedback from students
I have genuinely enjoyed being your course rep in the past year and would love to do it all over again!
