Neurodivergent Society

Welcome to the RVC's first Neurodivergent Society!

We are here to promote a supportive community for ND students within the veterinary field and studying at the RVC. We aim to provide the integration of neurodivergent students from all courses and years through meetings, events, activites, outreach, and panel discussions. Our goal is to provide students a safe space to discuss their experiences as a neurodivergent student. Supporting students in their academic and personal lives at the RVC is crucial to success and we want to be apart of that process.

The society plans to provide opportunities to learn, engage, and respond in ways that foster collaboration and positivity surrounding their neurodivergence. Offerings will include engagement oppotunities to feedback your experiences to departments such as the advice centre to whom we can partner with, to better the academic field and in term the veterinary field. With a wonderful force of neurodivergent positive faculty, working and ready to unit our ideas and thoughts, we hope to bridge communication with the insititute and its students.

Please join us, if for nothing else but the diverse group of individuals you are sure to come in contact with! We are here for you!

A message from our President, "Hiya, it's Lex! Thank you for choosing to support our new society which focuses on advocating for ND students within the academic institution of the RVC and the wider veterinary field. I do hope that between the amazing committee, our supporters and advocators, and myself, there will be a more advantageous and collaborative future for all students. We hope to provide study sessions, ND friendly social events, foster discussions with faculty and staff, and give our student body the opportunities to have their voices heard collectively. Remember, your neurodivergence or those traits that have you leaning in to potentially being neurodivergent can be a superpower, we just have to be patient with ourselves that unfortunately the world is not set up for us. Let us be ambitious and work on changing some of those aspects, so you can shine!

Should you have any inquires or feedback please contact us, ndsoc@rvc.ac.uk

We hope to see you soon!!
