Welcome to AVS at RVC!

Hello, I’m Jayson, your Senior AVS Representative at RVC and the Junior Vice President of AVS. As part of the Association of Veterinary Students (AVS), I’m here to support and represent veterinary students throughout their degree.

All veterinary students at the RVC are automatically members of AVS, with membership fees covered directly by the Students' Union. AVS is the student wing of the British Veterinary Association (BVA), and we work to enhance the student experience while supporting your future career in veterinary medicine.

Each year, AVS hosts two flagship events: Sports Weekend in the autumn and Congress in the spring. These events bring students from veterinary schools across the UK and Ireland together for incredible opportunities to network, learn and have fun.

Beyond events, AVS offers a variety of opportunities and grants, which you can explore on our website: www.avsukireland.co.uk.

We also publish the Journal of the Association of Veterinary Students (JAVS), written by veterinary students for veterinary students. It’s a great platform to share your experiences, research and insights - so why not consider submitting an article?
